Portion Control

What them fit gurus say? Results are 80% in the kitchen? Welp, I'm realizing that's why it's so hard for people to meet their fitness goals because eating right is a challenge! The harder I work out, the hungrier I become. And even when I only buy healthy options, I want more and more. This is where two important words come to play: portion control.
I think most people love food. Each culture is known for its unique cuisine and if you're like me, I want to try them all...at the same time. But I've been asking God for help in eating properly and He has been showing up (minus a few pre-Aunt Flo days but those don't count. I need all the energy food produces on those days).
Since I've been more intentional about bringing God into the kitchen, my appetite has been more sustainable. I've been drinking my water and minding my business (thank you Pastor SJR). I wake up feeling more energized and go to bed with less guilt. I don't get it right every day, but an old therapist advised me to reflect on my days with journaling especially days when I'm feeling unproductive. Well, I've implemented that same regimen in tracking my eating habits. When I'm feeling like I may have overeaten or eaten the wrong combination of foods, I write down everything I ate that day. Often times I realize I didn't go overboard like I thought.
So what are you doing to monitor your portions? Are you mindful of what you are eating? Organic vs. processed? Fruits vs. desserts? Let's get to our best, most fit selves together ya'll. We got this!
