Kick Distraction to the Curb — You Were Built to Win

Depression. Anxiety. Fear. Self-doubt. Suicidal thoughts. Unhealthy relationships. Chaos at work, school, or home. Family drama. That inner voice telling you you’re not enough.

Let’s call it what it is: distraction.

The enemy specializes in smoke and mirrors. His goal? To pull your focus from the assignment on your life—the greatness waiting on the other side of this fog. He tries to build walls of confusion, but let me tell you something—your worship, your praise, your Heavenly language, and your sincere prayer have the power to shatter every single brick.

Distraction comes to rob you of your voice. Your clarity. Your ability to communicate with Heaven and with yourself. But when you recognize these distractions for what they are—mere tactics to throw you off—you can laugh right in the devil’s face and move forward in victory.

Listen, distractions have been coming for me left and right—confusion, strained relationships. But guess what?

I got my mojo back, baby. Oh, behave.

I snatched distraction by the neck and threw it back to the pit from which it came.

Negative thoughts? I speak in my Heavenly language and confuse the enemy’s entire strategy.

Fear and doubt? I speak truth: “No good thing will He withhold from me.”

“I have everything I need—and more.”

Distractions come in all forms: a rude driver on the road, an unexpected text, a “per my last email,” or those haunting internal thoughts that try to keep you stuck.

But what if I told you—you don’t have to stay stuck?

You are not alone. You were built to conquer and overcome every attack that threatens your peace—mentally, physically, and spiritually.

You’re asking, “How, Renee? How do I overcome this?”

Let me break it down:

1. Call It What It Is

Recognize the problem as a calculated attempt to derail you. You are walking into something major—something so powerful that the enemy is scared of your potential. That’s why he’s fighting so hard.

2. Flip the Script

Don’t feed the distraction. Replace it. You can zone out on the couch with cookies and self-loathing, or you can rise up, get active, pray, call on God, and serve someone else's need. Trust me—service suffocates distraction.

3. Stay Plugged In

Worship. Prayer. The Word. These are your lifelines. When I slack off in any of the three, life will remind me why I need them. Stay connected.

Distractions are inevitable. But guess what? They’re also a sign that you’re on the right path. So when the storm shows up, square your shoulders, look it in the eye and say:

“You picked the right one today.”

You were entrusted with this battle, which means you’re equipped to turn it around. What the enemy meant to derail you will be the very thing that builds you.

That’s a new level of boldness. And it’s already inside you.

So go ahead—kick distraction to the curb. You’ve got everything you need to win.

Encourage yourself with this worship tune I've had on repeat this week. It's a reminder that God is whatever we need Him to be!
