You're Right Where You're Supposed to Be

ree

As we grow in years, we can sometimes get hit with shoulda, coulda, wouldas. But what if everything happened exactly the way it needed to? What if you’re not behind, but right on time? Could it be that everything you learned there prepared you for what you need to know here?

Reflecting on my past goals, I realize your girl wasn’t ready. And now, with more life under my belt and a little more wisdom in my pocket I can honestly say that some of the things I prayed for, worked toward, daydreamed about— were not what I needed at the time. There was still so much to learn, so much need for growth.

It’s not that I couldn't get ready—but the process required time. I had to sharpen my skills to gain the tools, the emotional maturity, the boundaries, the clarity, and the vision to handle what I wanted. If I had received some of those things too early, I probably would’ve fumbled them, mishandled them, or walked away thinking it was a failure—but in reality, it just wasn't time.

Growth doesn’t always show up in flashy wins or big breaks. Sometimes it looks like a quiet no. A door that didn’t open. A delay that felt like denial. But in hindsight, those were the moments shaping me, stretching me, preparing me.

So here’s what I’m learning: everything I went through back there was a classroom for where I’m standing right now. And now, I stay ready so I don't have to get ready. No fumbling over here; only catching and scoring.

If you’re in a season of looking back with regret, give yourself some grace. That version of you was doing the best they could with what they knew. That version of you got you here.

And here is a beautiful place to grow from.

What are some life lessons that maturity has taught you? Sound off in the comments! You might help somebody.

As the comment before me stated “this post is so timely”. And as God says “such a time as this”. I love “where we are is exactly where we should be”. When we can breath and thank God for where we are and not where we think we’re suppose to be because maybe someone else seems to be further along than us, or have more material things than us, or be in that relationship we thought we would have by now, and on and on, we will find peace in knowing we are here because it’s where we’re suppose to be. I love it! Thank you for always expressing so clearly what God gives you to share.

Thank you so much for this beautiful reflection. Like you said, we cannot compare our destiny to someone else's. We have to embrace our story because it's uniquely our's (see what I did there, lol). We are God's best work! Thank you for reading, commenting, and being so supportive❤️

This post is so timely. I just gained another year a few weeks ago. A milestone birthday. Where I am in life has weighed on me heavily the past few months. Some of what I feel is I am where I’m supposed to be. Other feelings are blocked or denied blessings due to my failure to be obedient. It was good to hear your perspective on this. Great post
